How much does a website cost in 2026 – a real price list without unnecessary chatter
Prices range from €300 to €30,000. It depends on what you really need – and this article will help you figure that out before you pay for unnecessary things.

How much does a website cost in 2026 – real price list without any nonsense
“How much does a website cost?” – Google receives this question every month from thousands of Slovak entrepreneurs. And the answer that you usually find is: “It depends.”
It depends. But that doesn’t mean we can’t get more specific.
In this article, we will give you real numbers for the Slovak market in 2026 – not a range from €500 to €50,000, which tells you nothing. We will show you what exactly is included in the price, what is not, and where companies most often overpay for things that they don't need.
Why website prices are so different
When you see offers ranging from €300 to €15,000 for a “website,” you naturally ask: is the cheaper one a scam? Not necessarily. The difference is usually in what is actually included.
Website creation consists of several phases, and each has its cost:
- Strategy and analysis – what the website should do, for whom, what content
- UX design – wireframes, page layouts, user experience
- Visual design – graphics, colors, typography, iconography
- Development (frontend + backend) – coding the site, CMS, forms
- SEO basics – meta tags, URL structure, technical optimization
- Testing and launching – cross-browser testing, speed, security
A cheap offer usually skips the first two phases or handles design only through a ready-made template. It’s not necessarily bad – it depends on what you need.
Real website prices in Slovakia in 2026

Type 1: Simple presentation website (1–5 subpages)
What you get: Introduction, services, contact. Maybe references. Mobile version, contact form.
- Who does it: Freelancer or small agency, usually on a WordPress template.
- Price: €400 – €1,500
Suitable for: freelancers, restaurants, small businesses, new companies testing the market.
Beware: the template may not be optimized for speed or SEO. Ask if you will get access to hosting and the domain, or just “website management.”
Type 2: Corporate website (5–20 subpages)
What you get: Custom design (or a well-modified template), CMS for content management, portfolio/references, SEO basics, Google Analytics, responsive design.
- Who does it: Agency or experienced freelancer.
- Price: €1,500 – €5,000
Suitable for: established small and medium companies that want a website that represents their level.
This is the range where you most often encounter quality that matches the price. Below €1,500 for a corporate website usually leads to compromises in design or code.
Type 3: Custom corporate website (20+ subpages, custom design)
What you get: Complete UX analysis, custom design from scratch, more subpages, advanced features (portfolio filter, multi-language support, booking system), integrations (CRM, newsletter).
- Who does it: Agency with a dedicated UX designer and developer.
- Price: €5,000 – €15,000
Suitable for: companies where the website is the primary sales channel; clients in competitive sectors; companies expanding abroad.
Type 4: Web application or portal
What you get: Custom logic, user accounts, roles, integration with APIs, reporting. The web is not just a “presentation,” but functioning software.
- Who does it: Development agency with a full-stack team.
- Price: €15,000 – €80,000+
Suitable for: B2B portals, booking systems, SaaS products, intranet applications.

What is NOT included in the price – and what will cost you extra
This is the area where unpleasant surprises arise. Most price tags do not include:
Domain – annual fee of €10–20 for .sk, €15–30 for .com. Buy it yourself, in your own name.
Hosting – depending on quality, from €4/month (shared hosting) to €50–200/month (dedicated server, cloud hosting). Cheap hosting = slow web = fewer customers. According to Google PageSpeed documentation, every second of delay decreases the conversion rate by 7%.
Content (texts and photos) – professional copywriting costs €30–80/page, product photography €300–1,500. If you provide your own content, you save, but you must actually provide it.
SEO Optimization – basic technical SEO is usually included in the price, but ongoing content SEO strategy is a separate service.
Management and maintenance – updates, security patches, minor changes. Count on €30–150/month depending on the scope.
Translations – for a multilingual version €0.07–0.15/word with a professional translator.
Template vs. custom web – what is better?

The answer depends on your goals:
A template is fine if:
- You need a website quickly and on a limited budget
- Your business is not in a highly competitive sector
- The website primarily serves as an “online business card” – not as the main sales channel
A custom web makes sense if:
- You want to stand out from the competition, who all use the same templates
- You have specific functional requirements that a template cannot meet
- SEO is a priority for you – a custom web can be technically cleaner and faster
According to HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2024, the median Largest Contentful Paint (the main speed metric) on mobile is 2.6 seconds. Websites built on generic templates with many plugins don't even get close to this number.
Red flags – when to be careful
The price is suspiciously low. A website for €200 exists – but you will probably get a template setup, not a website. Nothing wrong if you know what you are buying.
No contract with a defined scope. Without a clear scope of work, there is no basis for a complaint or discussion about what was agreed upon.
The agency offers you “management of domain and hosting.” This means that the accesses will be with them. Insist on owning the domain yourself.
No references or portfolio. Every web developer has bad projects too – but a zero portfolio is a warning sign.
Promise of first position in Google. No one can guarantee specific positions. An agency that promises this is either lying or will ask you for a monthly retainer and not deliver.
Conclusion – how much should you pay?
The realistic minimum for a serious corporate website in 2026 is €1,500 – €2,500 – with an agency or experienced freelancer, with a custom design, CMS, and basic SEO. Below this threshold, you are buying compromises.
If your business relies on a website as a sales channel, an investment of €4,000 – €8,000 in a quality website will pay off faster than you think – and save you redesign costs a year later.
